Sundown Creations Studio
Welcome to the Sundown Creations Studio web site, and thank you for taking the time to browse through its pages.
My name is J.M. Leutheuser, and I founded Sundown Creations in Boulder, CO in 1974. I grew up in a family of artisans (painters, photographers, etc.) in Ann Arbor, Michigan and have been creating art in some form for as long as I can remember. This site introduces you to my latest passion: wearable glass art.
I have been working with stained glass for many, many years, creating diverse pieces from ornate window panes to “slumped” glass serving bowls and vases, artistic candlestick holders, and stained glass jewelry boxes. I enjoy working with glass because of its endless creative possibilities.
About four years ago I discovered the unique beauty of Dichroic Glass, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Its depth of color evokes the brilliance of semi-precious stones, and so naturally lends itself to jewelry. I’ve enjoyed handcrafting a line of wearable glass art—bracelets, pendants, and earrings—in my small Colorado studio using this versatile medium.
Please feel free to contact me with any comments or questions you may have about the glass or my studio. I hope you enjoy wearing these “little works of art” as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them.
